Christ Church (Baptist), Chengalaroapeta, Visakhapatnam, is a Christ-centred community rooted in the Word of God and shaped by more than six decades of faithful worship, service, and witness. Founded in 1948, our church has grown from a small gathering of devoted believers into a vibrant congregation committed to glorifying God and serving people with love, humility, and purpose.
Guided by biblical truth and the transforming love of Christ, we seek to nurture spiritual growth, build strong fellowship, and serve our community with compassion, humility, and purpose. Whether through worship, prayer, discipleship, or outreach, Christ Church remains dedicated to sharing the hope of the Gospel and living out our faith in meaningful and practical ways.
CHRIST CHURCH BAPTIST HISTORY
History of Christ Church (Baptist)
Established in faith and guided by God’s grace, Christ Church (Baptist) stands as a testimony of God’s faithfulness. Inspired by a spiritual revival in Visakhapatnam in 1947, a small group of devoted believers came together in prayer and fellowship, laying the foundation of the church. The congregation began regular worship in 1948 and was officially recognized in 1949 as part of the C.B.C.N.C. Through prayer, sacrifice, and committed pastoral leadership, the church grew steadily in faith and service. In 1957, the present church building was completed entirely through freewill offerings. Over the years, additional milestones such as the bell tower, parsonage, and the Wayside Pulpit strengthened the church’s mission to glorify God and reach the community. For decades, Christ Church has borne rich spiritual fruit—nurturing believers, raising leaders, and touching many lives through worship, service, and the Word of God.
